Dry Needling

Wadsworth Family Physical Therapy does offer dry needling services as an adjunct to other physical therapy interventions. Dry needling is a safe and effective procedure that has been proven to help treat and manage a variety of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Some insurances still consider this procedure experimental and because of this, it is rarely covered by insurance and does require an out-of-pocket fee per visit. You may want to contact your insurance company to see if these services are covered under your plan. If they are not, you will be responsible for the price of treatment on the day the services are provided. Depending on your condition, a physical therapist may suggest this treatment if indicated. With an insurance charge, the first visit will be a $20 fee and only involve a small number of needling sites. Subsequent visits will range from $20-$40 depending upon the complexity of dry needling treatment. If you have Anthem Commercial insurance, most will process a dry needling charge, but your expense varies with your individual insurance benefits. Without an insurance charge, visits will range between $35-$140.

  1. My mother is going to be 100 in February. She has benefited from PT and has used it through her Medicare Advantage program. She has been able to use it periodically after falls, hospital stays and rehab. I would like to find someone who could come to her home in Wadsworth maybe 2-3 times a week for a PT session. Do you offer such services?

  2. Mark,

Unfortunately, we only offer outpatient physical therapy in our office at this time and do not travel to patients’ homes. It might be best to call her primary care doctor, and see who they recommend for in-home services. Please feel free to call 330-335-4200 if you have further questions.
